Theresa de Souza
Curriculum & Training Consultant
Theresa is an EdD candidate in Teacher Leadership and Education and holds an MEd in Curriculum and Instruction. She has taught in many different environments from high-risk inner-city to online private high schools. As an international teacher, Theresa enjoys bridging cultural gaps and working with a large variety of students and teachers. Theresa has lived in many different places, including Brazil and, currently, Oregon. As a soccer coach, she enjoys spending time with children of all ages and loves imparting an appreciation for being fit and working as a team.
Jill holds an M.A. in TESOL from American University and a dual B.A. in International Studies and French from Seattle University. Jill has also worked in the legal field and international educational marketing as well as being a yoga instructor. She has traveled widely, and has lived in several different countries, including France, Morocco, Egypt, Ghana, and India, where she completed her yoga training. Jill is the proud mother of a son and daughter.
International Education Consultant
Courtney holds a M.A in International Training and Education from American University and a B.S in Secondary Education and English from Vanderbilt University. Courtney has explored many facets of the education field from Adult Education, International Education, Non-Formal Education, and Teacher Training. She has had the opportunity to live and work in several locations including Chicago, Nashville, Washington, DC, Ecuador, Malawi, South Sudan, Nigeria, and India. A lover of learning, Courtney enjoys experiencing and exploring new cultures, meeting new people, hiking, picnicking, reading, and writing.
Consuelo Nelson Grier
Program Consultant & Urban Education Specialist
Consuelo holds a MEd in Education Leadership and a BA in Politics and English and has recently begun working on an EdD in Transformative Leadership. She currently serves on the Board of Trustees for a public charter school in Washington, D.C. and has and educational focus on urban education, program and policy work for high-risk populations, and culture and climate improvement in urban schools. Consuelo has helped to develop and manage post-graduate studies for persons with disabilities in developing countries including Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Cambodia, and Vietnam. As a native Seattleite, Consuelo can be found faithfully cheering for the Seattle Seahawks during football season.
Dr. Amber Warren
Research & Training Consultant
Amber holds a PhD in Literacy, Culture & Language Education with a minor in Inquiry Methodology, and a mildly obsessed reader of language and linguistics blogs. She first discovered she wanted to teach and travel internationally after her 9th grade English teacher introduced her to the idea. Like this chance encounter, her travel has often been adventitious. At present, her wanderings have led her through 16 countries where she has indulged her love for taking photos of abandoned structures and collecting locally carved wood boxes.
Medical Education Consultant
Amy obtained her Masters of Science from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and currently practices emergency medicine at The George Washington University Hospital where she is also an Associate Clinical Professor. Blending her passion for medicine and culturally responsive instructional design, she has developed multiple medical education and training programs in the Middle East, Africa, as well as throughout North & South America. When she’s not in the ER or teaching, her favorite place to be is in a kayak on the Potomac River or scuba diving in a foreign land
